new-rules
Most of The-BALL’s game rules will be the same as those used in NCAA men’s basketball. The exceptions are all listed below. If a rule is not mentioned in this document, then the default is the NCAA Men’s basketball rule.

The-BALL Basic Rules

  • 4 x 10-MINUTE (10:00) QUARTERS
  • 24-SECOND SHOT CLOCK
  • 8-SECOND HALF-COURT TIME LINE- There will be a separate clock used for the half-court timer, which will be visible to the fans, enabling them to follow along.
  • INTERNATIONAL GOAL-TENDING RULE
The Goal-tending rule does not apply once the ball has touched the rim
Both offensive and defensive players can touch the ball while it’s on the rim. This will result in electrifying sway-outs or follow-up dunks and happens to be the current rule in International Basketball
  • CALLING TIMEOUT DOES NOT RESET THE HALF-COURT TIMER, NOR HAVE AN EFFECT ON WHERE THE BALL IS INBOUNDED FROM
